Position summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to lead the SDC Nutrition, Inc. Sales Department for Brand Portfolio sold through all channels.


Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate staffing of the Executive Sales & Marketing levels including: Recruit, screen, interview & approve candidates for hire; Monitor performance and provide direction; Recommend actions regarding terminations and/or disciplinary action; Address performance deficiencies; Recommend pay actions; Conduct training of staff.
  • Develop U.S. Brand Sales strategy to deliver the annual topline sales, gross margin and pricing objectives in partnership with the SCMO.
  • Lead the U.S. Brand Sales Team, comprised of both SDC Direct and Independent Broker Sales Representatives, to achieve sales and performance targets.
  • Ensure annual, quarterly, and monthly sales performance, customer satisfaction and performance indicators are achieved according to SDC Nutrition, Inc. guidelines.
  • Ensure in-store sales promotion strategy is executed in market to achieve contracted display, shelving, merchandising and pricing objectives.
  • Ensure customers and teams are enforcing and monitoring Minimum Advertising Price (MAP) across all sales channel classes.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop and execute promotion event strategy and calendar to deliver brand sales and build customer and consumer awareness, trial and loyalty.
  • Partner in the creation and execution of Sales Training and Development Programs that enhance team performance, effectiveness, retention and recruitment.

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Must be able to walk, stand, sit, see, hear, and speak for extended periods of time.
  • Work involves exposure to known allergens.
  • Position requires independent overnight travel.


Work Days and Shifts:

  • Position works primarily Monday through Friday. May require occasional weekend work.
  • Position requires approximately 50% overnight travel.


Education/Certification(s)/License(s) required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or equivalent experience.

Experience/Other required:

  • Computer proficiency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM.
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, including sales experience with business-to-business customers.
  • Must periodically pass random drug screening.
