What is the MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) & Cost?

This is applicable to a planned order:

Capsules: 240,000 capsules

Powders: Most products – 1500 units

Heavier units (5 lbs +) – 500 to 700 depending on the product


What is the research & development cost rates? (How much for samples?)

$500 product development fee is typical, but it is applied as a credit to your account and will be applied to your first SDC invoice.


How do you formulate flavors?

Our Vice President of Custom Formulations, Dan, has experience with formulations and can help you create your custom formulation.


Are you willing to hold ingredients for us if we buy them?

Yes, we are even willing to hold ingredients in our facility for you if you buy them.


What types of ingredients do you offer? Is there a list to look at?

No – we rotate inventory on over 1000 unique ingredients. And we’re 100% turnkey, so anything we don’t currently purchase we will source on the customer’s behalf.


What is your communication style?

We have various communication styles: email, text, phone calls, or any other preferred method.


Are there any contract requirements?

No, we do not have any contract requirements.


Do you have experience with California prop 65?

Absolutely.

Would you be willing to allow us to tour the facility?

Yes, in fact, we encourage it. We are very open and transparent with everything in our facility. We want you to be comfortable with where your products will be produced. Our CEO, Sean Marszelak, often says: "If your supplement manufacture won't let you tour the facility, something is wrong."


How long will it take to make my products?

Our lead times for new products are 6-8 weeks and for recurring orders, you can expect 4-6 week lead times. The reason the first order takes longer is usually due to longer lead times from suppliers for new labels, ingredients, packaging etc.


What is your deposit requirement when placing an order?

We require a 50% deposit which helps secure the raw material and components for your order.


Do I need a formulation already to get started with you?

No, our Contract Manufacturing department has over 30 years of experience formulating products.


My product was damaged during shipping. Will you replace the product?

If we shipped your products via an SDC approved carrier, we would need pictures along with a copy of the notated BOL to recover the costs of the damages from the carrier in which case we will work with the carrier to resolve the situation immediately!


Do you provide COA’s (Certificate of Analysis)?

Yes, we can provide COA’s with every production run.


I’m importing my products into another country. Can you help me with documentation?

Yes, our Quality Department works with our customer daily to provide the needed documentation to register internationally.


What type of packaging do you work with?

For powder products, we with bottles as small as 5oz all they way up to bulk 25lb bags.


Is there an extra charge for a custom formulation?

No, the setup process is the same whether you are interested in one of our branded formulations or if you’d like to customize your own formula.


What forms of payment are accepted?

Our preferred method of payment is ACH or wire however we will accept checks and we can also accept credit cards for payments under $10k.


Is there a manufacturing setup fee in addition to the prices we have received?

Depending on the raw materials needed for your project, there may be an R&D fee for samples.


What is the normal shelf life for products?

Typical expiration is 2 years from manufacturing date.


How long have you been in business?

SDC has been contract manufacturing for 7 years.


Are you a broker or a true manufacturing plant?

All products that SDC produces are proudly made in our 60,000 sq. ft. facility located in Pittsburgh PA
